Time to update the boat name lettering and graphics

Who has time to think about boating --- at least that was my thought last year. With gas at $4.00 plus we just didn't feel real cozy taking our cruiser boat out for a ride. Gosh, just getting up on plane cost a few dollars and a short trip to our "cove" here in Chesapeake Virginia would easily burn up $12.00. Whew, that boat is expensive to run...

But it's a new day. Gas is $1.80 a Gallon, we filled the 80 gallon tank up (back when it was $1.39) and filled up about 45 gallons of storage fuel. So no matter what gas does this summer, we'll be boating and for under $2.00 a gallon.

Storing gas? You need this: JCWHITNEY

It's Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer - the marine version and it's highly concentrated. If you are going to hoard fuel, you just gotta do it right.

Anyhow, the main reason for my post is our new project - replacing our boat name lettering and replacing the sun faded graphics with something with a little sizzle.
I did a little checking and found a couple of excellent sites that specialize in boat names and boat lettering graphics. While there are many choices for buying new boat graphics I'm still partial to my old stand-by... StreetGlo. When I visited their site I found two new tools that will help with boat name selection and eventual design of the lettering.

Have a look at this cool tool: StreetGlo Boat Name Database Tool
click on "LIVE BOAT MANE GENERATOR".

Here is a listing of boat names that is compiled -- not from some old and wrinkled paper list somewhere of boat names that were "hot" 5 years ago. It's a current list of boat names being selected and cut into lettering right now.. even as you read this. Streetglo has tapped into order systems to capture many of the new boat names being used now and being though up nightly as one tosses and turns over and over when they should be sleeping... but instead thinking. Thinking of a boat name. Some of tomorrows most popular boat names can be found now at StreetGlo's name too.

If you visit this site, they are adding in a boat name contest at this page. Here you'll be able to create your own great boat name and once monthly the best boat name entered will receive --- that boat name in sreetglo's boat lettering graphics. When this feature is available, be sure to look for a box called IWIN and enter this code: CMA100 This puts your boat entry into the contest.

Well, I'm working on my boat lettering right now. I'll keep you posted!
