Time to update the boat name lettering and graphics

Who has time to think about boating --- at least that was my thought last year. With gas at $4.00 plus we just didn't feel real cozy taking our cruiser boat out for a ride. Gosh, just getting up on plane cost a few dollars and a short trip to our "cove" here in Chesapeake Virginia would easily burn up $12.00. Whew, that boat is expensive to run...

But it's a new day. Gas is $1.80 a Gallon, we filled the 80 gallon tank up (back when it was $1.39) and filled up about 45 gallons of storage fuel. So no matter what gas does this summer, we'll be boating and for under $2.00 a gallon.

Storing gas? You need this: JCWHITNEY

It's Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer - the marine version and it's highly concentrated. If you are going to hoard fuel, you just gotta do it right.

Anyhow, the main reason for my post is our new project - replacing our boat name lettering and replacing the sun faded graphics with something with a little sizzle.
I did a little checking and found a couple of excellent sites that specialize in boat names and boat lettering graphics. While there are many choices for buying new boat graphics I'm still partial to my old stand-by... StreetGlo. When I visited their site I found two new tools that will help with boat name selection and eventual design of the lettering.

Have a look at this cool tool: StreetGlo Boat Name Database Tool
click on "LIVE BOAT MANE GENERATOR".

Here is a listing of boat names that is compiled -- not from some old and wrinkled paper list somewhere of boat names that were "hot" 5 years ago. It's a current list of boat names being selected and cut into lettering right now.. even as you read this. Streetglo has tapped into order systems to capture many of the new boat names being used now and being though up nightly as one tosses and turns over and over when they should be sleeping... but instead thinking. Thinking of a boat name. Some of tomorrows most popular boat names can be found now at StreetGlo's name too.

If you visit this site, they are adding in a boat name contest at this page. Here you'll be able to create your own great boat name and once monthly the best boat name entered will receive --- that boat name in sreetglo's boat lettering graphics. When this feature is available, be sure to look for a box called IWIN and enter this code: CMA100 This puts your boat entry into the contest.

Well, I'm working on my boat lettering right now. I'll keep you posted!

How to use Motorcycle Decals and Reflective Decals on your motorcycle

Motorcycle Decals and
Reflective Helmet Decals

A smart girls suggestion in favor of reflective decals....

This article is for motorcycle riders. While there are many applications for Reflective Decals, no one benefits more from Reflective decals than motorcycle riders. Reflective Decals can dramatically increase the visibility of your motorcycle at night. If you select Reflective Decals in contrasting colors, you can also increase your visibility in the day as well.

There are several styles of Reflective Decals for use by a motorcycle rider. You can choose from simple reflective logos such as a Harley Davidson Reflective Decal, Yamaha Reflective Decal, or others such as Suzuki and Kawasaki reflective decals to apply to your helmet or even on the free areas of your motorcycle itself.

If your motorcycle already has graphics as is common with some sport bikes, consider ordering a replacement set of graphics in reflective decal material. Streetglo and other reflective decal manufacturers offer replacement motorcycle decals with reflective decal versions. If you don’t want to remove your existing non reflective decals, then consider adding a reflective decal design to your existing bike. It is very easy to create a supplemental reflective decal design that installs adjacent or on top of your existing non reflective decal or graphics on your motorcycle.

Streetglo has several reflective decal designs that can be easily added to the fenders and fairings of your bike. These reflective decal designs include tribal flame reflective decals and lightning bolt reflective decals, just to name a few.

There are other places you can add reflective decals to your night ride. Your helmet is the perfect place to display a large assortment of reflective decals. For example, you can try installing a large reflective decal kit such as Streetglo’s Speed Stripe decal. This reflective decal kit has a very large surface area and can easily be seen from quite a distance away. Smaller options are available as well such as the Mega Flame Helmet Decal or their Classic Flames reflective helmet decal. If you’re a cruiser style biker and like wild stickers on your helmet, Streetglo has a large assortment of hard core biker decals but in reflective decal stock for maximum safety.

In my next article, I will supplement reflective decals with reflective motorcycle pinstriping. Please visit http://www.streetglo.net for a large selection of reflective decal products.

Christmas party

We had a Christmas party last night, Dec. 11, 2004. There were three groups of people at the party. Friends from work, neighbors, and of course my biker friends. We had a great party but I miss the summer rides. The weather has been warm here but it's still too cold for my liking. Well... we have next season to look forward to, right? I envy those souther bikers that can ride all year long. I'll keep this short for now, but should have more posts shortly.

Some of my photos

Here are a few of my photos. I was going to make this a motorcycle only post but I can't find any photos of me and the motorcycle together. Go figure! But that will change this summer. There's going to be a lot of photos and I'll be sure to post them.

Here's a few to start things off right...

Just me at a party at home. A lot of people like this photo
of me the most. This was a karaoke party in the summer of
2004

What's this? Brown Hair! Now you don't know what color
my hair really is... Maybe you should guess

After a long day on the computer. I've been doing a lot
of work lately and it's beginning to show. Ha.. No actually
this was taken at the party, did you see the clue?

This is from the summer of 2003. It was a great year for boating. I didn't
have my motorcycle then. Funny thing, didn't do any boating in 2004, but
sure did ride the motorcycle a lot!

I just love the water!

And... I love New Orleans too! Here I am on vacation.

Well, I'll be back later to add more photos to this message.
I'm really going to try and find something with
my motorcycle in it.

I want to thank www.streetglo.net for allowing me to use the USER PAGES
at streetglo to store these photos and make it possible to post them.

What's a lonely girl do do home alone at night?

Allright guys, I know what you are thinking. Cuddling up in the bedroom all by myself and .. well you know.. That's what some of you guys are hoping for. But there are alternatives. When I'm home alone and all by myself, I sometimes do the usual thing you guys do. I go online!

My favorite places are so few I can name them on my fingers. But for now, I'll just write them down. Check them out!

For Shopping:
http://www.hsn.com
Hsn has a lot of great deals on brand name and private brand products. If you wait and watch and search, you will find some outstanding deals on HSN

http://www.product-testing-labs.com
A nice place to read product ratings and reviews.

http://www.qvc.com
QVC is my 2nd choice for in the bedroom shopping. These two sites save me a lot of Christmas Shopping time.

For Motorcycle Information:
http://www.streetglo.net/links
Streetglo makes decals and stickers for motorcycles. However, the have one of the best and most up to date motorcycle index sites out there. If you are looking for Motorcycle info, this is the place.

http://www.webbikeworld.com
Web Bike World is a huge collection of the latest motorcycle info and news. I also visit http://www.vabiker.net/html/index.html and http://www.virginiawind.com for news and information. Between these three sites, you don't need much else!

http://www.streetglo.net
Streetglo has a very large selectino of really cool decals for motorcycle and car decals. I personally use their reflective decals. I have their helmet stickers on my helmet and I have their motorcycle graphic kit on my bike. I also have their invisible reflective tape on my motorcycle fenders and frame. You can't see it during the day, but she lights up like a power station at night, just like me!

http://akamotorcycleaccessories.com/
This girl wants to snuggle up inside a really hot pair of motorcycle jeans and leather jackets sometimes and AKA is the place I shop always. I love their prices and large selection.

Making your ride safe!

A few days ago we heard a lot of sirens racing up the interstate not far from home. I didn't think much about it. We were busy having a party and guests were coming in and out. Finally some friends, Craig and Joy rode up and told us they were picking a rider out of a tree, actually both the bike and rider. It seems that a motorist managed cut off the rider and he went over the access ramp and into a wooded area. The status of the rider is unknown but at interstate speeds I am fearful that he didn't make it. It's times like these that I question the wisdom of riding. Yes, it's the most wonderful feeling, I agree, but is it worth it?

There is a really good article about making yourself seen on a motorcycle. the article is at http://www.motorcyclesafe.com Please take a moment and read this article. It would make me feel better and it could save your life!
